The chaos, the madness, the disorder and the sheer mayhem around the world today is something we have grown quite used to nowadays. What might once have seemed preposterous and beyond imagination have today become the norm. And such is the disarray that we the common people, have frankly stopped caring about them.
The purpose of this blog is not to add to your minds a synopsis of the shambles that our world lies in, nor is it to give you a sense of respite- because frankly there isn’t one. It is to approach the world through different lenses, through different perspectives and viewpoints.
Although we are always surrounded by this chaos, our minds have hardened far too much by now to actually feel it. But if we don’t feel, how can we ever realize the urgency of the situation? And one of the few aspects of the world that allow us to truly feel any emotion at all is Music.
Through the great works of Shostakovitch like his String Quartet or Mozart’s Requiem, we shall analyze the world’s current political and socioeconomic senario. We shall venture into Democracy, the world’s greatest laughing stock today and shall compare the present with the past.
For the past is the only point of comparison. Without the past, the present is futile.
